Summary:

An interview of three actors who play in the most recent Dracula. They talk about the perspectives of the actors on who and what they play. A mental health counselor will join and talk about the therapeutic and mental health of the play.

My Work:

This is going to be adapted into my work to talk about how the actors have connected the mentality of the past to present day. Specifically about mental and sexual abuse and how that has changed the different way.

Arguments:

Keeping true to the novel and staying on top of the social change at the same time.

The change in the present day is brought up in contrast to Stoker’s descriptions.

My work Con:

This will be situated in my work by helping me contrast the metal processes from the past to now and how that has changed lifestyles, cultures and life overall.

Most interesting contributions to topic:

Lindsay Meagher-Swanson who is a licensed health counselor.

How will you apply these exciting

contributions to your own podcast? Does it

give you interesting ideas of your own?:

I want to bring in the idea of how

psychology and mindset has changed form

what was acceptable then vs now. And how

the sexuallity drove the mind of the

characters.

New information:

Sexual dangerous tale that causes people to feel attracted to the book. Horror can be therapeutic to violence survivors because it’s liberating to not have a protector person come save them from an abusive person. Dracuala became a psychic vampire as he drained people of blood and self.

How will you engage with this new

information? In what ways does it come into

your project?:

Love the aspect of dracula draining the sense of self as he takes blood. This plays a big part in the psychology of the characters and even people today.

Summary:

This podcast discusses the connections between music and horror movies. Victorian Literature and Sexy Monsters.

My Work:

It brings up how music changes the psyche. This is connected to my work as a studying the psychological side of the minds of people.

Arguments:

Music, especially rock music, having that allure of the freedom and off the beaten path mindset. Devil is desirable because we see things that we want in him. The devil doesn’t give a ‘damn’ and changes it for himself.

My work Con:

The will help me see the connections between the allurements and better understand what people desire unconsciously.

Most interesting contributions to topic:

The psychology of people and how music plays into that. Informal and changing music like rock has this alluring behaviour like dracula/devil. Personal desires and personal identifications of Dracula.

I’m gonna apply the relation of the devil by the people to my study of the psyche. The only way things like this can be implemented to is have a breakdown of Dracual and what it is that is so attractive.

New information:

The desires of being this larger than life thing makes people drawn to it. In music, we are taken out of ourselves and become new. Whether that is monstrous to others or not.

This will also be added to how the characters, especially Lucy, are changed by Dracula.
